DESCRIPTION

» Quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine.

  • It is a vaccine developed to increase the effectiveness of preventing influenza, covering four strains of influenza viruses that are commonly found each season.

› Species covered.

  • The quadrivalent vaccine protects against four strains of influenza A and B: Influenza A (H1N1), Influenza A (H3N2), Influenza B (Victoria strain), and Influenza B (Yamagata strain).
  • This vaccine is therefore broader in scope than the trivalent vaccine, which only covers one type B strain.

› The purpose of vaccination.

  • Reduce the severity of influenza.
